Beetlejuice

This was made some time around the release of the second movie. Limba (used for his hair) is a very difficult wood to laser, as it likes to catch on fire during the process. The other big hassle was the black and white frame. It would have been easier gluing strips of maple and walnut together and slicing them up on the table saw (just like making a cutting board), but I really wanted the grain running continuously around the picture so I ended up gluing blocks together end to end and running a skewer through them for support. Running them through the drum sander helped sort out the unevenness.
